Golden Disc Awards (골든 디스크 어워드) is one of the biggest Kpop music awards. founded in 1986 that is presented annually by the Music Industry Association of Korea for outstanding achievements in the music industry in South Korea. It is usually dubbed as the Korean Grammy Awards. The trophy is called "Statue of a Woman Playing a Reed Instrument" (생황 부는 여인상) that was designed by professor Kim Soo-Hyun (김수현)
The Golden Disk Awards was held for 25 times since 1986, unlike the other music awards, The Golden Music Awards stood out it's presenting the winner based on the real number of the selling Albums and digital downloads. So not only because the singer gain popularity based on the number they broadcasted, but also independently loved by their fans. That's why the golden Music award may proves the most accurate for Korean Musicians activities in one year.

The 26th Golden Disk Award will be held in Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan from January 11-12 2012 for two days. The show itself would be broadcasted by JTBC in Japan and South Korea.
