There is interesting stories after the successful performance of the three most popular Korean artists in Japan (Girls' Generation, Kara and TVXQ) over 62nd NHK "Kouhaku Uta Gassen".
The popularity polls for the overall artists performance in the show, placed TVXQ for the most popular artist in 62nd NHK "Kouhaku Uta Gassen". Despite only fans within Japan were able to vote without the help of other international or Korean fans, TVXQ was to obtaining 49.7% of the votes to secure 1st place.
As Considering that "Kouhaku Uta Gassen" is Japan’s biggest year-end music festival, TVXQ’s achievement speaks for the level of popularity they have reached in Japan. Meanwhile, others Korean artists who performed at the show Girls' Generation was placed at 5th spot at the polls and surprisingly, Kara placed at 20th of the vote. Kara 20th spot achievement considered as turned point as they were the 2011 most popular Korean artist in Japan.
