Korean's little sister, IU who recently on adult state thanks to her High School graduation, received her first task as an adult person, by honored her ambassador for fight against bullying.
On 10th February IU officially chosen as the ambassador for fight against bullying, by Korean National Police. Cho Hyun Oh as the National Police Agency given a duty to IU, as he gives IU certification of ambassador to IU personally.
IU appointed for this duty, considering her friendly and overall image, as the person who generated peace, love and compassion which recently given by their fans toward IU. The National Police agency believes that IU images would reflected to the Korean people especially student in order to gain respect, awareness and prevention from school violence.
In respond for her new duty, IU remarked, “As an ambassador against school violence, I need to be more responsible from now,” She added. “As an Idol, there were times where it was really hard for me at school but my friends were a good support system. I will do my best to serve as a bridge between the police and schools, making sure that students study in a safe and fun environment.”
While Cho Hyun Oh expresses his high expectation toward IU, as he spoken, "We need a school violence prevention spokesman who the students would listen to, in order to help them reach a collective agreement that bullying and violence is wrong.” Then he added, “We hope that IU will actively serve as an ambassador so that victims feel that they are free to report incidents without being afraid of retaliation from the bullies. Only by this way, another offenses will not occur in the future.”
Recently, National Police Agency has more than 300 local Police officers being placed to taking care and measured in order to eradicate violence in school, which will promoting 40 more officers.
