The question who is Korean most popular artists in Japan (Girls' Generation and Kara) who got the first million copies sell Japanese album finally answered.
The Japanese Internet news agency ‘RBB Today’ reported on January 11, K-pop girl group Girls’ Generation’s first full-length Japanese album, "Girls’ Generation" recorded a million sales by January 11 2012 summary count.
The great achievement from this album starting on it's first month released, has already sold 500,000 copies and earned double platinum. Hence "Girl's Generation" streaks one million copies for six month on it's released. Therefore the girls become the successful artist who sold one million mark since BoA did it seven years ago ("Valenti" in 2003 and "Best Soul" in 2005).
Afterwards, the group released the album in a repackaged form on December 28, 2011, which sold 30,000 copies in a day (estimated by Oricon), and posted 82,768 copies as of January 9, ranking no. 2 on the Oricon weekly sales chart. We might seen another great achievement from the Girls' Generation's albums on Japanese market in the future.
