The 26th Golden Disk Awards may ended in 12th January 2012, but the story behind one of the most celebrated awards in Korean music industry apparently was still be hot issue to discuss among Kpop fans.
Through the controversy around the show performance and unfairness judges of the awards were still on nerves of some Kpop fans, but that wasn't made the awards quiet from successful stories. The success stories came from Korea's number one female group Girls' Generation who was gain two awards from the 26th Golden Disk Awards for "Digital Album Category".

Of course that wasn't the best story, the special is, by the awards they received this year, made Girl's Generation has won the Golden Disk Awards three times consecutively since 2009. Firstly in 2009 the girls won First Prize (Disk Daesang) and "The Best Digital Album" for "Gee", second in 2010 the girls reached it for "Oh" and third in 2011 for "The Boys".
Their success can only be compared by other artists with three Golden Disk Grand Prizes under their belts are solo artists Kim Gun Mo, who was awarded top honors in 1994, 1995 and 1996, and Jo Sung Mo, who took home three Golden Disk Grand Prizes in 1999, 2000 and 2003.
